There are a couple more options that must be set first, in order to achieve an undetectable removal of the luminance moiré. Earlier I mentioned that if the density was greater than 50%, the destination file would lighten. This is the exact opposite of what I’m trying to achieve here. I need to lighten the dark swirls of luminance moiré. Hence, check the “Invert” option next to the “Preview” check-box. You may also need to adjust the opacity. In other words, adjust how much of this blend should be applied.

If you have the amount in opacity selected, you can use the “up” and “down” arrow keys to adjust the amount by a single percentage point. If you need to make large adjustments, hold down the “Shift” key while using the arrow keys and the percentage amount will change by values of “10”.

Toggle the “Preview” check box on and off to see the final result to make sure your repairs are not visible. (See previous page for the image with "Preview" checked.)
